Tanya is a lifelong resident of Lewiston and resides here with her husband Jim and their beloved pets. She has spent the majority of her working life in human services, supporting agencies who support those in the community. Tanya is a 2013 graduate of the University of Maine at Augusta, with a B.S. in Mental Health and Human Services with a minor in Geriatric Services. Tanya is an AmeriCorps alumni; completing 2 years of national service through Maine Service Corps with a focus on mentoring and supervising adjudicated youth as they complete court ordered community service. During her service she volunteered at SafeVoices where she stayed on as an employee for 3 years. Tanya was a long time dedicated staff member of Tri-County Mental Health Services in a variety of roles, with her favorite position being that of Program Coordinator of the Wellness and Recovery Team. This was a peer driven program, tapping into the life experience and learned skills of those in recovery as a way of supporting others along their journey. As a peer herself, Tanya completed state training and held a Certification in Intentional Peer Support.

Tanya is now the Director of Operations and HR at Sandcastle Clinical & Educational Services, a non-profit early education center who strives to prepare both special needs as well as typically developing students for success in school via an integrated classroom environment and on site access to speech, mental health, occupational and audiological services. In her free time, Tanya enjoys traveling, photography, archery and any opportunities for continued learning.
