LUNAfest Lewiston 2018

LUNAfest is an annual festival short films by, for, and about women, that travels the United States.  This year it is being hosted in 175 cities across the country, providing a venue to promote and showcase the work of women filmmakers.  LUNAfest will be shown at the Public Theater in Lewiston on Wednesday, May 16, 6:30pm.  Discussion will follow the showing, led by sociology professor, Emily Kane, from Bates College. The event is being sponsored by The Center for Wisdom’s Women, Safe Voices, the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services, and the YWCA.

Films being shown are Buttercup by Megan Brotherton, Girls Level Up by Anne Edgar, Toys by Amanda Quaid, Fanny Pack by Uttera Singh, Joy Joy Nails by Joey Alley, Yours Sincerely, Lois Weber by Svetlana Cvetko, Jesszilla by Emily Sheskin, Waiting for Hassana by Ifunanya Maduka, and Last Summer, In the Garden by Bekky O’Neil.
