Roaring Brook Farm in Wales (www.roaringbrooknursuries.com) hosted St. Mary’s Nutrition Center and The Center for Wisdom’s Women to glean an end of the season harvest. Kristen Glazier owner of Roaring Brook, invited everyone to pick as much as they wanted, and offered all the berries at no charge. In all, over a dozen people picked. It was a beautiful, bright, cool and breezy Maine day, and we picked for nearly an hour. Then on Friday, July 2, the women’s center celebrated the upcoming July 4th holiday, by having a strawberry shortcake party. The generosity of Kristen and the farm provided a wonderful afternoon and brought loads of smiles. What fun! Thank you Roaring Brook!
